Fiber optic technology is evolving from the "1.0 era," represented by traditional silica fibers, to the "2.0 era," characterized by hollow-core fibers. Traditional silica fibers are facing a series of challenges due to material limitations, such as the "channel capacity crush," "high-power laser damage," and "performance degradation under irradiation." Hollow-core fibers, using air as the guiding medium, provide an ideal environment for light transmission with low nonlinearity, low dispersion, low loss, and low latency. Ultra-low loss


The loss of hollow-core fibers has reached the level of <0.11 dB/km(OFC 2024 Th4A.8), surpassing the loss levels of any fiber made from current materials. This significantly reduces the number of amplifiers and transceiver modules needed, providing a new solution for long-distance transmission.


Low dispersion


Hollow-core fibers exhibit near-zero dispersion values and dispersion flatness, which can significantly reduce DSP complexity, simplify receiver architecture, and lower system costs and power consumption.



Ultra-low Latency


Compared to traditional silica fibers, hollow-core fibers offer a latency improvement of over 1.5 μs/km, bringing new vitality to applications in finance, AI clusters, and other fields.



Ultra-low nonlinear effect


The nonlinear coefficient of hollow-core fibers is three orders of magnitude lower than that of traditional solid-core fibers. This enables high-fidelity, distortion-free transmission over long distances, providing an effective solution to the nonlinear shannon limit issue.

Linfiber Tech Supports China Mobile in Launching 800G Hollow-Core Fiber Cable Transmission Test Network

June 6, 2024 – Linfiber Tech (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (referred to as Linfiber Tech, www.linfiber.com) has collaborated with China Mobile to launch the first 800G hollow-core fiber transmission test network between Shenzhen and Dongguan in Guangdong province. The hollow-core fiber (HCF) provided by Linfiber Tech achieved remarkable key performance metric over a 20km link, including self-splicing loss of 0.05 dB, hollow-core to solid-core connection loss of <0.3 dB, and an installed cable loss of 0.6 dB/km (including connectors and splices). These technical advancements highlights Linfiber Tech’s superior capabilities and comprehensive expertise in hollow-core fiber technology.
